ANA DE LARA, Producer & Writer
Ana de Lara has produced, written, and directed twelve short films and has won over twenty awards and recognitions, including the Creative BC MPPIA Award (Good Girls Don’t); Telefilm New Voices Award (The Virgin Mary Had a Little Lamb); Best Short Film, Vancouver Women in Film Festival (Near Silence); and Best Children’s Film, Toronto Commfest Festival (In Control).
Ana’s films have screened on Shaw TV Multicultural Channel, and in Canadian and international festivals, including the Montreal World Film Festival and the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
Ana studied video production at the Gulf Island’s Film and Television School. She further honed her skills through courses at CineVic, including Elizabeth Yake’s Creative Producing Workshop. Ana also received Digital Marketing training and mentorship from Annelisse Larson, as part of her prize for winning the Vancouver Women in Film Festival “From Our Dark Side” screenwriting competition.
